THE RATIONAL MADMAN
Wed Jul 03 2024Author: Victory Ahiaku KwashigahTHE RATIONAL MADMAN
Nothing’s more interesting
Than listening to a madman
So I stood by
While he talked by the roadside
And I found his words to be odd
But never found them to be lie.
He said,
We usually die
Before we grow old
He said most may get buried at
70 but they die at 34
He said,
Time has mass
And was the heaviest of all
Said that’s why we hunch when
We’re older
Cause we can’t take the load
He said,
It wasn’t the soul that carried by
The body
But the body that carried by
The soul
Said our spirit was stronger
That anything else we know
He said,
The universe was small
And was nothing compared
To what the mind had stored
He said,
Myths were real
And facts were false
He said the amount of things
We don’t.
He said,
The things we learn are
Never new
We just learn them for the
First time
He said man has never invented
Just copied from nature’s mind
He said,
Most boys stay boys forever
Only rare ones become men
Said age was but a number
If wisdom was mislaid.
He said,
We shouldn’t live to die
But we should die to live
Cause the after-life is much
Greater
Than the world we live in.
He said,
The best way to escape is never
to run
The best way to do is to think
The best way to hold on is to let
Go
And the best way to swim is to
Sink.
He said,
“Never close your eyes when you
Pray
Even though that’s what priest
Say
Open your eyes and wait
Cause that’s when God shows his
face
I have seen him plenty of times
And I must say he’s a glorious sight’’
And that was when I couldn’t help
But smile
Not because I was skeptical
No, I believed every line
But rather because I was
Surprised
Cause you see even though
He said,
he saw God with his eyes
I knew this madman
And I knew that he was blind.
